PNBMARTZ LTD

Board above the packing benchset once each working day

The board reads: 15:00 cut-off.

One figure stands on the board all day and every sheet here is arranged around it. Stamped before it, an order is picked, packed and labelled the same working day; stamped after, it joins the next sheet.

PNBMARTZ LTD lists household and everyday lines online and despatches them from one unit in Derby. No counter, no showroom. An order arrives as a file, prints as a pick list, is walked round the shelves, packed on the bench, labelled against a consignment and handed to a courier. Returns come back through the same door.

The site is written as a despatch log. Each of the eleven sheets covers one stage, in the order it happens, and says who does what at it. Where a figure matters, the sheet states it and shows the arithmetic.

Two sheets calculate: the cut-off sheet below, and the volumetric sheet on sheet 04. Both work only from figures you type.

Stage by stage

From keystroke to collection

Left column: when. Right column: what happens at the bench.

On receiptorder file

The order lands as a file

Line codes, quantities, the address and any access note are written down as typed. A flat number that was not typed is not invented for you.

On receiptacknowledgement

An acknowledgement repeats it back

The lines and quantities as received go back to the email on the order, so a mistyped quantity is caught while the order is still a file.

Before cut-offamendable

The window for a change

Until the pick list prints, a line can be added, dropped or re-quantified by email. After the cut-off the parcel is sealed and a change becomes a return.

At cut-offsheet sealed

The sheet prints in shelf order

Orders on the file at the cut-off print as one pick sheet sorted by shelf, so the aisles are walked once rather than once per customer.

Pack windowbench

Pick, read back, pack

Each pick is read back against the sheet, boxed into the smallest outer it fits, void filled, taped and weighed. The note inside names the packer.

After packinglabels

Labels and one manifest

A consignment is raised per parcel, the label goes on the largest flat face clear of seams, and the whole sheet lists on a single manifest.

Collectiongoods-out door

Cages go to the driver

The driver scans the manifest at the door and the parcel count is agreed there. That scan is the first state anyone outside the unit can see.

In transitscans

The scans do the talking

From collection onward we see what the recipient sees and nothing more. A query we raise carries the consignment number and its manifest line.

Sheet that calculates

Which day a parcel actually leaves

Working days are Monday to Friday here.

This does the arithmetic the desk does in its head. Type the stamp time, the cut-off standing on the board that day, and the transit working days the service expects. Every step prints below.

01

Order stamped at 14:20 on Thursday 8 October 2026.

14:20 = 860 minutes past midnight

02

Cut-off standing on the board that day.

15:00 = 900 minutes past midnight

03

Earlier than the cut-off, so the order joins the sheet packed that day.

860 < 900 minutes

04

The bench seals and labels on this day.

Despatch: Thursday 8 October 2026

05

Transit day 1 of 2 added.

+1 working day → Friday 9 October 2026

Sat 10 Oct is a weekend day, not counted.

Sun 11 Oct is a weekend day, not counted.

06

Transit day 2 of 2 added.

+2 working days → Monday 12 October 2026

07

Window: last transit day to the working day after it.

Mon 12 Oct – Tue 13 Oct 2026

A guide worked from the four figures above and nothing else. It counts Monday to Friday and does not know England & Wales bank holidays. A courier network, not this desk, decides arrival.

Stock groups

What the shelves hand to the bench

Lines are listed by specification, not by maker: sheet 06 carries the groups and the figures recorded against each. What follows is the other half — what each group does to a parcel at the bench.

Storage and containment

Large, light and awkward: these settle on their volumetric figure rather than the scale. Empties travel nested; a lidded tub is taped shut before it is boxed.

bulkynestedvolumetric

Household consumables

Light, and easily crushed at the ends. A roll is boxed rather than bagged, and nothing heavy rides above one.

crush riskboxed, not bagged

Cleaning and refill

Liquids travel upright, double boxed, closure taped, with a pad beneath. A refill pouch goes in its own bag inside the inner box.

Fixings and small hardware

Dense for their size. Counted into a sealed bag, then packed at the base of the parcel so the weight sits on nothing softer.

The outer, not the line, is what a carrier measures, across the widest point.

Consignment states

What a tracking state actually says

A tracking page is a list of scans, not a commentary. Each state means one scan happened somewhere. Sheet 05 covers handover and stalled scans.

Consignment raised
A label exists and the parcel is on the manifest. Still in the unit.
Collected
The driver scanned the manifest at our door.
At depot
Sorted at a hub; one journey can show this twice.
Out with driver
On a round that day. The round sets the order of calls.
Carded
No safe hand-over was found; the card names the next step.
Delivered
Signed for, left in a named safe place, or taken by a neighbour.
Returned to sender
Coming back, to be booked in against the original manifest line.

Inbound again

Back through the same door

A return and a damage claim are separate pieces of paper that end at the same goods-in bay. A return is a line coming back by choice; a claim is a line that arrived broken or short.

A return starts with a reference

Email the order number and the line; a reference comes back with the address. The reference is what lets goods-in match a parcel to an order instead of opening an unknown box.

A claim starts with the outer

Photograph the outer with the label readable and the void fill still in place, before unpacking. That photograph is the part of a carrier claim nobody can reconstruct later.

The unit, the registered office and the returns address are one place: 70 Co-Operative Street, Derby. A parcel coming back is handled at the bench it was packed on.
